Hyatt Regency Orlando: Stay for Free

The Hyatt Regency Orlando is right in the thick of things. Located on International Drive, a short walk from the convention center this establishment both hosts conventions onsite, and is a go to hotel for the attendees of the many conventions elsewhere. This place appeals mainly to business travelers looking to enjoy some R&R on their work trip; however, the staff and amenities ensure that family vacationers also enjoy their stay.

The Hyatt Regency offers all the amenities that one would expect for a hotel of this caliber plus a few novel ones. Among the typical room offerings (everything from a standard to a suite), there is an options for a hypoallergenic room complete with air purifiers, a great option for those who suffer from allergies or respiratory issues. The Wi-Fi is complementary for guests and the signal is very solid. Parking is a bit of a weakness; while self parking is offered, it’s a bit of a hike, with the option of taking the hotel run shuttle.  For the business traveler the Executive Business Center as a real asset; able to take care of any last minute presentation material as well a provide a superior workspace.

Eating at the Hyatt Regency Orlando means having an abundance of options. With seven on-site restaurants, serving everything from Italian cuisine to coastal Floridian food, you should be able to find something on premise to appeal to everyone; there’s even a 24-hour diner for the midnight munchies. In the unlikely case you cannot, (maybe you’re travelling with that guy from accounting that only eats sushi?) being on International Drive means you are steps away from a bevy of other dining establishments.

The staff at this hotel have managed the trick of making a huge establishment feel personal. They are quick to correct any issues and attentive to requests from their guests. We recommend letting them know about any special occasion that occurs during your stay here; they specialize in the little gestures that go a long way. The are experts in the local attractions and dining scene and very able to aid you in putting together your Orlando itinerary.

While the typical guest at the Hyatt Regency Orlando may be here for business purposes, it doesn’t mean that they neglect the fun stuff. With three swimming pools complete with waterslides, hot tubs, a full service spa, basketball hoops and ping pong table, there is fun to be had here. Private cabanas can be rented poolside and are an excellent way to keep out of the sun while relaxing.

Members of the Hyatt rewards program can use their points towards a stay at the Hyatt Regency Orlando. Points can be acquired various ways; via previous stays at Hyatt properties, trips taken on any of the 27 affiliated airlines or by shopping at any of the business partners of the Hyatt such as AVIS car rental. Additionally, you can accrue points by using a Hyatt Reward Visa card, offered by Chase Bank.

How to Stay at the Hyatt Regency Orlando for Free

Option 1:

My favorite credit card is the Chase Sapphire Preferred. It comes with a signup bonus of 50,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards Points. Once you get your signup bonus, you’re able to transfer those points to Hyatt. The Hyatt Regency Orlando costs 15,000 points per night so you’d be able to use 45,000 of those points to stay for FREE whenever you’d like. Looking at the room rates there, 3 nights would normally cost you about $650 after they get done adding the fees in.

Option 2:

You could also signup for the Hyatt credit, although the signup bonus isnt as valuable when redeeming at the Hyatt Regency. The Hyatt credit card comes with 2 free nights at any Hyatt worldwide. If you were to use those 2 nights at the Regency in Orlando it would save you about $430. Personally I’d much rather use those 2 free nights at an all-inclusive resort in Cancun where the savings would be over $1,000!
