There is wealth of options when it comes to amenities, activities and dining at JW Marriott Orlando, Grande Lakes. A place that appeals to the solo and family vacationer, this is an ideal choice for a crowd with varied interests; everyone will be able to find something to suit them.
With five connected pools and a lazy river, children and adults alike will be thrilled floating by the waterfall in this lagoon style water attraction. Smaller children have their own shallow pool to play in while the older crowd can hit up the waterslide. For the more adventurous guests the staff organize eco excursions which can include: kayaking, canoeing, fishing and hiking in the area. In the unlikely event that none of the above appeal you are able to access the facilities at the adjacent Ritz Carlton, including bocce ball courts, lady bug release programs and a splash pad.
Designed by the great Greg Norman, located along the picturesque Shingle creek the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club (operated by Marriott Golf) is a star attraction. The par 72, 18 hole, golf course was conceived as a model for responsible ecological grounds keeping, and has won multiple awards for its conservation efforts. Golfers on this course can expect to see a variety of wildlife such as deer and heron, as well as an abundance of natural fauna such as oaks, cypress and wetlands. Complete with a driving range, putting green, and clubhouse offering lessons and kids programs, this course appeals the to novice as well as the expert golfer.
There are four food options at Grand Lakes: Citron, an American brassiere, The Kitchen, a causal eatery, Primo, an upscale Italian bistro and Quench the poolside bar. Of all of them Quench is often the only option at lunch, outside of room service. Citron has buffet and menu options while Primo is strictly a la cart. Outside of going next door to the Ritz-Carlton you are limited to these options if you want to walk; Grande Lakes is not in walking distance to restaurants in the city.

The rooms at the The JW Marriott are the weakest element of an otherwise strong showing. The décor is a little dated and the carpet may not smell as fresh as it once did. More troubling however is the air conditioning system which often emits a bit of a musty order when first turned on and itself is a little temperamental. The Wi-Fi is strong however, and the housekeeping staff excellent.
