Marriott Harbour Lake: Stay for Free
The Marriott Harbour Lake Resort is a resort built for kids. While you do not strictly need small children to enjoy this location, if you dislike being around the creatures this is probably not your best choice. Built with a Key West theme Marriott’s Harbour Lake has enough activities to keep the whole family thrilled for the duration of their stay.
Instead of your more typical resort pool the Marriott Harbour Lake has built an entire water park. Shipwreck Landing has a pirate pool, water cannons and of course a water slide. This is not a pool for doing your laps in; it’s built for straight up play. Be prepared for your kids to ask to skip a day at the amusement parks in favor of playing Captain Hook here.
Marriott Harbour Lake resort offer diversions for children beyond the water park. There is a mini putt course on premises as well as a volleyball court and table tennis. The staff plan activities, so be sure to look for a schedule; typical offerings include Campfire and S’more evenings and family karaoke.
The majority of the units at Harbour Lake are 1 and 2 bedroom villas which come equipped with full kitchen and washer dryer. The guest room option lacks the washer/dryer but does have a well equipped kitchenette. While very functional the décor in the room is a little dated and the size is smaller than comparable Marriott properties. Additionally, due to the proximity to the highway, it is not the quietest of all resorts, especially when you factor in the volume of all the children. Units further from the pool are quieter, however if you’re closer you have the option of keeping an eye on your children at the pool from your porch.
As all units have their own kitchen, meals can be prepared within the villas. Outdoor grills are also provided and exceedingly popular; you would be wise to build a wait time into your schedule. If you’re looking for a break from the food preparation The Patio Bar and Grill is open for all meals, weather permitting. For those looking to grab a snack The Outpost is a convenient place to find grab and go options.
The adults in the party will be impressed with what the Marriott Harbour Lake doesn’t have; there are no resort fees and no charges for parking or Wi-Fi. 24-hour access to the fitness center is also a nice perk. With a bevy of outlet malls, spas and golfs courses minutes away from the villas, there is more than enough to keep everyone fully entertained during their Orlando vacation.
Those in the Marriott reward club can apply their points toward a stay at Harbour Lake. Points can be accrued through earlier stays at Marriott properties, or through use of the Marriott Visa card. Any member of the Hilton reward programs or the Starwood Preferred Guest program can transfer point to their Marriott account and then apply them towards a stay and Marriott’s Harbour Lake.
