Orlando World Center Marriott: Stay for Free
Let’s start with the obvious; this is a large hotel. Built on a scale that appeals to conventions, the Orlando World Center Marriott can feel a bit like a city unto itself. This size comes with benefits and demerits, but properly you can have a fantastic vacation here.
The size of the hotel translates into many options and that can be a real asset if you’re travelling with your children. If you are looking for some only adult time there’s a ‘Kid’s World’ where you can drop off kids 4-14 for a fee, have them engaged in constructive activities for the day while you enjoy some solo lounging by the pool. If hanging at the pool with the children is more your speed than the multiple pools, complete with out of this world water slide, will thrill everyone. The fire pit, beach volley ball courts, and the nighttime poolside laser show, appeal to the tricky teenage traveler (as does the easy access to Starbucks).
Because of it’s massive size the Orlando World Center can appeal to both the family and the single traveler. If you happen to be the latter the 18 hole golf course, spa, jogging path and fine dinning options will keep you entertained. The fitness center is leaps ahead of the typical hotel gym with a glass wall allowing you to appreciate the grounds while you work on your fitness.
There are a few hiccups to be aware of when staying at the World Center Marriott; the first and largest being the parking system. Due to the size of the hotel the self parking is off site requiring you to take a shuttle there and back, while the shuttle aims to run every 15 minutes it can be delayed. The lot itself works on a card system which can be finicky, and tends to be very full. Allow for time to find a space in the gigantic space and if possible, once parked leave the car and use alternative transportation for the duration of your stay.
The multiple parks in the city are all easily accessible from Orlando World Center. The hotel provides a complimentary shuttle the Disney parks and can, if requested, facilitate transportation to other attraction for a fee. And while there are multiple restaurant options the 24 hour deli can be a life saver after a long out with the family, when dining in public may be more than tired children are capable of. Don’t forget to save some money and get your Disney World tickets from Undercover Tourist before you go.
There are multiple ways to visit Marriott using rewards points. Belonging to the Marriott rewards programs will assist you; any earlier stay can accrue point that you can apply towards your Orlando vacation. Procuring the Marriott Rewards Visa card will also quickly net you the points required for an Orlando Vacation. You can also convert Diner’s Club point and Identity Points form the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas to Marriott points. Additionally, members of The Ritz-Carlton Rewards program and the Starwood Preferred Guest program can link their account to transfer points.
